Dark

Hi,

We had another day of oppressive heat here in Chiang Rai. There may be rain in sight, but we’ve heard that before.  That seems to be the only thing that cools things down around here.  It’s 8pm and it’s 85°F.

The ‘Easy Monday’ song was “Tired of Waiting for You” by The Kinks.  Here’s a ‘Zany Day’ tune from the past that you may remember:  “I met her in a club down in old Soho, where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola, C-O-L-A cola.  She walked up to me and she asked me to dance, I asked her name and in a dark brown voice she said __, __-__-__-__, __ la-la-la-la __.”  Hint:  The title is a woman’s name.

Jai Dee has decided that he wants to wake up with the birds.  That means 5am, and he also wants us to wake up with him.  That’s not OK.  This morning we endured a barking concert that finally ended and he got quiet.  The puppy is running the house.  He already has decided that Lisa and I warrant different levels of play.  He’s a lot more aggressive with me, but he bites us both.  It’s hard, sometimes, to realize and remember that he’s only been in the world for 9+ weeks.  Today we learned, from Natcha, that he likes ice.  I don’t know if this is a Golden thing or not, but it brings back memories.

This morning, as we were about to start our day in the street, Natcha came into the kitchen and Jai Dee raced over to her, tail wagging.  They have really bonded and it’s beautiful.  Our first stop was at Bangkok Hospital.  It seems like this ordeal may be almost over.  From there we went to a pet store on the highway, looking for a portable doggie play-pen.  Then we went to both locations of Browney Pet World.  We got a small supply of dental bones that Jai Dee loves, although we have to monitor his intake or he’ll pig out.

This afternoon we could hear the sounds of Nitchanan laughing and playing in the pool with Gong.  There’s nothing like the sound of kids having fun.  As soon as Jai Dee gets his adult teeth and loses the need to bite, they will be playmates for sure.  He already perks up when he sees her.

Today’s photo is the house where the art exhibition was held.  On the left there is an open veranda where the dining took place.  That’s the only part we saw.  Hmm.

It’s that time of the year when we start planning the Winter Visit to the States and all that comes with it.

It feels like a Wacky Wednesday.

                       Peace,
                                 Danny
