Spirit

Hi,

Weather is such a fickle thing.  Those wonderful blue sky days we were enjoying are gone already.  They were replaced today by more unhealthy, gray/brown skies.  This evening there was a lot of thunder and lightning, followed by a little shower.  It always rains before Songkran, so that record remains unbroken.

The ‘Easy Monday’ song was “I Saw Her Standing There” by The Beatles.  See?  Easy.  Onward to the ‘Zany Day’ madness.  “Let me tell you how it will be, there’s one for you, nineteen for me.  ‘Cause I’m the __, yeah, I’m the __.  Should five per cent appear to small, be thankful I don’t take it all.  ‘Cause I’m the __, yeah, I’m the __.”  Hint:  The title is the name of a non-fictional ogre who eats paper and coins.

The ‘run up’ to Songkran was in full force today.  The traffic was a little heavier, and there was a very festive atmosphere at Big C.  We didn’t get there until 10:30, knowing it would be busy.  That was an understatement.  The lots were almost full, and inside, families were piling their carts with supplies for parties and ‘survival’ through the holiday.  It begins on Friday and officially lasts until Sunday, the 15th.  Unofficially, the holiday lasts about 10 days. That’s how much time many businesses are closed.  This weekend we will be hearing concerts by major bands as well as the usual local talent, all from across the river right into our house.  Hmm.  Yea!

After our Big C adventure we went across the highway to Central Plaza Mall.  It had just opened and the lots were full.  What?  We expected to be mobbed inside, but it was actually rather quiet.  Where were the people?  Our guess was that they were in the theaters or the restaurants.  At any rate, some kind of commerce was happening.  We did what we needed to do and got out.

Today’s photo is the official invitation to Lisa’s exhibit opening.

Feels like a Wacky Wednesday.

                      Peace,
                                Danny
