Progress

Hi,

The weather report is getting boring, more of the same beauty.  Today we went 'malling' and learned a few things.

'Zany Day' may never be the same.  Only a couple of you seem to remember this one.  Here are a few lines you should never forget (555):  "... If all the hippies cut off all their hair, I don't care, I don't care.  Dig, 'cos I got my own world to live through, and I ain't gonna copy you... But I'm gonna wave my freak flag high"  Hint:  What 2 numbers can be rotated to look the same?  He played guitar left-handed.  Hmm.

Our morning adventure began with a visit to Sinthanee, a major appliance store where we get things like air/cons and the washing machine.  We've been missing not having a clothes dryer so we did a little research.  There are more models to choose from than when we built the house.  We're leaning toward making the move in the near future.

We recently had our friend Gahn make us a new bedspread.  It came out great, but now the pillow cases don't match.  Today we went to Central Plaza to shop for pillow cases at Robinson.  After finally understanding that there were three different things one can put on a pillow, we narrowed the field and found a color that worked, in a material we liked.  While we were shopping they turned on the music.  We were treated to some '70s R&B starting with The Isley Brothers "Harvest for the World".  As we were leaving they were playing "Love Train".  Now the question is, who understood what was playing?

As we left Robinson, we were on a different floor than where we entered.  To our surprise there was a new structure inside the mall.  As predicted, 'Land and Houses', a major home building company, had come to town in a big way.  They now have a 'show room' right there in the mall.  How convenient, go shopping and buy a house.
We had a pleasant lunch at S&P, listening to Bossa Nova/Thai covers of popular songs that were interrupted by commercials for the shop.  Today's photo is the new 'house store' at the mall.

On our way home we stopped at Bobby Bo's for some 'homemade' cookies.  There was a table of young people having lunch and as we talked with Bobby we realized they were speaking Japanese.  There is a Japanese language school next door and the group at the table was mostly teachers, with a couple of students.  Bobby explained that there are Japanese people in Chiang Rai who come to the school to learn Thai, as well as Thais learning Japanese.  We had seen the school, but didn't realize the scope of the teaching.

This afternoon Boot told Lisa that Cat was not drinking her milk because she was afraid it would make her taller.  She is taller than most of her friends so it's easy to see how that could be a concern at her age.  Lisa explained that the milk would not make her taller and that it was good for her at her age.  We think she understood.

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

                    Peace,
                              Danny
