Friday Funnies

Hi,

Today was the first day all week that we had some clouds.  We will probably have rain by Monday.  Maybe a little rain will water things and mute the newest outdoor noise polluters.

The 'Zany Day' song was "If 6 Was 9" by Jimi Hendrix.  Listen to it.  'Old School Friday' is here again.
"You're __ __ __ __, but I still have your love to remember you by.  Oh, my darling, dry your eyes.  Daddy's coming home soon.  On my knees every day all I do is pray, baby, just for you...."  Hint:  Long distance romance, your mileage may vary.  Extra Cool Points if you know the answer song.

We did a round of errands in town this morning.  You know, food for the humans and treats for the dogs.  On the way home we stopped by 'Fan Guy's' shop to check on our vacuum.  His wife came out and said 'one week' and she'd call.  Hmm, I haven't seen him since he put the loud jet engine in our little machine.  Every time we've stopped by he's never been there.  Something is not right.  One week and we'll know if we have to write the whole thing off.  I think his place is being closed out.  The fishing shop next door is gone and the whole block seems to be moving into the 'future'.

The upstairs windows had to be closed after lunch because the music from 'the project' was too loud.  At the beginning of the week dump trucks brought tons of dirt to one of the little lots that makes up the supposed housing project which is behind us and maybe 50 meters west.  After the dirt was delivered they pounded poles into the ground.  Now there is a canopy over the new dirt, chairs were brought in, and large speakers that have become an annoyance.  Right now the music is thumping away in what must be an outdoor bar.  Ah, life in the country.

This afternoon we went back to Central Plaza to make an exchange.  Outside the entrance to Robinson, on the patio, a stage had been set up and lanterns were being hung.  There were also little animals made of cloth, with lights inside.  This was all part of the preparation for the 'Lana Lantern Festival'.  We will go back when things are lit up and take photos.  It should be interesting.  On the way home we came upon this photo op.  The picture speaks for itself.  A 'veggie run' to a market or a restaurant.

The predictions of rain in our area are due to the movement of Typhoon Haiyan.  It will be a lot weaker by the time it reaches our area, just some rain.  In the Philippines they call it Yolanda.  Whatever one calls it, it's a monster storm.

This morning when Cat left for school she took her overnight bag with her.  She went to her sisters house after school.  We got a call from her this evening letting us know she was there and that she had lots of homework.  She'll be back tomorrow afternoon.  In the evening we're going to a chamber music concert at a hotel by the river.

Have a Wonderful WeekEnd.    Prepare to laugh.

                  Peace,
                            Danny
