Rock

Hi,

After a thunderous night, we had a beautiful day in Chiang Rai.   We stayed behind the walls all day and didn't realize it until the day was over.  Hmm.

The 'Easy Monday' song was "Ooh, ooh Child" by The Five Stairsteps.  'Zany Day' may be a challenge if you're young:
"One little piggie went to London, one piggie went to Hong Kong.  This little piggie's comin' over your house 'cause it'll love you all night long.   __ __ __ __ __ __, can't get enough of your love.  When I go to sleep at night that's the only thing I'm dreamin' of."  Hint:  Sung by a group known for their zany tunes, title uses another term for the animal mentioned in the lyrics.

Last night, just after drifting into early sleep, a series of thunder claps jolted the house.  It felt like an earthquake, the percussion was so heavy.  We could hear it move south, like a monster walking across the sky.  After we calmed down and went to sleep, there was more, and then the rain began.  This morning Rudy told us that BamBam was shaking and he had to hold her.  We had been wondering how she was doing with it all.  Daku slept through it and so did Boot.  What?

There have been several positive reviews of Lisa's exhibit published in Chiang Mai newspapers.  This will likely bring more visitors to the gallery and that's a good thing.

With all the activity building up to the opening of the exhibit, we neglected to celebrate our sixth anniversary of moving to Thailand.  A lot has happened since we came here.  We have become part of three communities and have lots of friends.  There is the art community, which has become a big part of our lives, and then there are our Thai friends that we've met through different activities.  We also have expat friends from various countries.  We saw the diversity at our party a few weeks ago.  It feels good to know that even though we are far away from where we spent most of our lives, we are definitely not alone.

Today's photo is from the unfinished 'Temple Spa Complex' (my term) that is on the highway to Chiang Mai.  On one trip, we were imagining what we could do with it.  We'd make it into a crazy tourist attraction similar to the Madonna Inn on the highway in California.  If you know the place then you get the idea.  Everywhere you look there is something a little off-center, a little zany.  We lovingly refer to the spa by that name.

It's time for Wacky Wednesday.

                 Peace,
                            Danny
