Beautiful

Hi,

Our hot season is back now. Chiang Rai had a very warm day and tonight is the same. Today we went to Central Plaza for our first peek. There was more art at the Rimkok, and the pool got a diagnosis.

It would seem that the 'Summer of Love' has not left the memories of many of you. Here's a bit more of the song.
"Beauty I'd always missed with these eyes before. Just what the truth is, I can't say any more, cause I love you. Yes I love you. Oh how I love you." Hint: One of the four words in the title is a fabric commonly used in sheets. The music was a fusion of Rock and Classical and was very dramatic.

This morning we got an early start on an excursion to Central (pronounced Centrun) Plaza. When we arrived, people were streaming into the parking lot, but it was easy to find a place. There is a row of restaurants along the outside. Only one was open, and it had customers buying pizza at 10:30 in the morning. The mall was to open at 10am but the doors were locked. The only entrance was to Robinson (not to be confused with Robinsons), a major department store chain. We went in and browsed through different sections, checking out what they had to offer. It was a far cry from the Night Bazaar. We hung out there until almost time for the mall to open. That's when we found the bookstore. For Chiang Rai, it has a huge art section and Lisa got a bunch of tiny bottles of colors she'd never seen. We then strolled down another row of restaurants and one of them had a robot that was cruising the area inviting customers inside. We found a very large section with nothing but I.T. stuff. Computers, printers, accessories, and more all in one area. On the third floor was the cinema, but it looked like all the movies are in Thai. Our final stop was at Tops Market. Chiang Rai has never had a grocery store like this. We even found wax paper, which Lisa uses in her cast acrylic print process. She bought four boxes. This is big because we usually have to have someone send it from the States. We'll be going back to see more very soon.

This afternoon Lisa went back to the Rimkok to work on her art piece. Some of the artists are nearly done with their projects, after two days. Lisa had a piece that she 'pulled' from it's polyethylene base, and two guys with video cameras captured the moment. Another artist came over to her work station and was very interested in what she was doing. There was also a little girl who studied her every move as she painted flowers on a work in progress. Tomorrow is the last day of 'work', followed by a dinner.

Our friend Johan came over today to check out the pool. He confirmed that there are leaks in previously filled cracks and a new one. We'll probably monitor the level, let it go down, fill the cracks and see what happens. It will be a few weeks before anything can be done so if the water warms up, we just may swim in a shallow pool. (Ha)

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

Peace,
Danny
