Universe

Hi,

The weather has been mostly the same.  The days are hot and the nights cool down.  Today the sky showed evidence of burning somewhere.  There is a distinct yellow/pink cast in the air.

The ‘Old School Friday’ song was “Venus” by Frankie Avalon.  Can you say early ‘Bubble Gum’?  ‘Easy Monday’ is here and it’s time to tickle your brain.  “Deep down in Louisiana close to New Orleans, way back up in the woods among the evergreens.  There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood, where lived a country boy named __ __ __, who never learned to read or write too well, but he could play a guitar just like a-ringin’ a bell…”  Hint:  The title is a name, and it’s by one of the legends of R&R.

Even though Songkran doesn’t begin for 3 weeks, the little ‘village’ has already been erected on the other side of the river.  The thatch-roofed shelters are ready to house vendors and it looks like people are camping already.  The government extended the period of mourning for The King to one year, but we have seen a gradual return to normal.  There may not be fireworks this year, but I suspect there will be the usual music concerts and carnival atmosphere.  A few weeks ago there was a concert downtown that was billed as ’Stress Free Music Festival’ and featured Smooth Jazz type acts.  We are waiting for the water (555).

While on the topic of water, today’s photos are from Pimilai Resort.  The first photo is the ‘Dock’ from the beach to the boat.  This handy invention keeps the feet dry.  It was, however, challenging to stay upright and make it to the boat, especially when the waves caused it to ripple.  The second pic is one of two speedboats used to ferry guests.

More progress has been made on the pool.  They’re almost finished with the tile inside the pool.  The lights are in, and the plumbing is invisible.  We may be putting water in this thing next week.

Natcha took Neetchanon to the zoo in Mae Lao, about 30 minutes from here.  Unfortunately, the day was too hot for it be fun.  Meanwhile, Gong has been busy planting seedlings of herbs around the yard.

Wednesday Cousin Laurel of the New Hampshire Cousins will fly in for a quick visit.  We’re looking forward to showing her the sights and catching up on life things.

Have a Great Week.

                    Peace,
                              Danny
