Friday Funnies

Hi,

The air in Chiang Rai has cooled off quite a bit.  It must be all the heavy clouds and rain.  This afternoon we had a steady light rain for hours.

The ‘One-line Zany Day’ song was “Yakety Yak” by The Coasters.  The ‘Old School Friday’ song should be easy.
“Whenever I’m with him, something inside starts burnin’ and I’m filled with desire.  Could it be the devil in me or is this the way love’s supposed to be?  Just like a __, burnin’ in my heart.  Can’t keep from cryin’, it’s tearing me apart.”  Hint:  One word title is often used in weather reports.  It’s by a ‘Girl Group’ from the motor city.

We spent the whole day at the house.  Lisa spent a lot of the afternoon finishing up a wonderful new acrylic painting.  She has been doing more painting lately.  During the rainy/humid season the cast acrylic print process is more difficult because of the moisture in the air.  The new series is full of vivid colors and the latest is quite abstract.  Exciting things coming from the studio.

Tomorrow night we will attend the Art Bridge opening of the latest edition of ‘Small Paintings’.  This year the canvases are smaller than last year.  The larger small paintings are 20 cm square (7.87 inches).  All of the Art Bridge artists were invited to submit one painting.  It should be a very interesting exhibit.

Today’s photo was taken at the Healthy Market.  I call it ‘Fish-on-a-Stick’.  That’s exactly what they are, and no, I haven’t tried them.

One of the notable news stories from this region this week was the announcement that the highway from Thailand to India is now open.  I think some it is more like a road, but it’s now possible to drive through Burma to northern India.  I don’t see it as a big vacation route, but there will probably be a lot of commerce on the road.  There are more and more areas north of Thailand that were once only accessible by air, like parts of China.  Things are definitely changing in this region of the world.

Sunday evening we’re going back to Favola Italian Restaurant at Le Meridien Resort for dinner with our friends Stephen and Claire.  In the meantime, we’ll be checking in on our favorite players at the U.S. Open, and this is another Formula One weekend, this time from Italy.  Zoom.

Have a Wonderful WeekEnd.        Wait for the ‘Funnies’.

                Peace,
                          Danny
