Gratitude

Hi,

The heat is on. The forecast calls for a gradual rise in the temperature. It's not like we didn't know it was coming. (Ha) We're also doing battle with pesky mosquitos. Today's adventure in town took us to the market.

A few of you knew this 'Summer of Love' song right away. It's a tender song giving us a tip on what to do.
"You know she's waiting, just anticipating, the thing that you'll never, never, never possess. But while she's there waiting without them, __ __ __ __, that's all you got to do." Hint: The artist sat on a dock watching the boats, his career ended sadly at age 26.

We're in that time of year when the big leaves from across the street blow over the wall and into the yard. The dogs love them. In the morning they're damp from the dew and don't have much appeal, but in the afternoon they're nice and crunchy. We call them 'teak chips'. I took Daku out to play and he was so distracted that I had to wait until the few that he could find were devoured. Then he got down to serious running around and retrieving.

There is an aisle in the market that has about five vendors that sell nothing but bags and purses of every description. We were in search of a black purse and we finally found one. There was a tiny little girl, the daughter of one of the vendors, who made a point of coming over to me and waving 'bye bye'. What a different world it must be for the children who grow up in the cramped aisles of the markets. They manage to do what children all over the world do, they find ways to play.

Tomorrow morning I'll be taking the early plane to Bangkok, on my way to Phuket (Poo-ket) for a convention. We're in the height of 'The Season' in Thailand and Phuket is a tourist destination. It should be bustling with visitors. We have a friend who is performing at the Marriot Resort and I'm hoping to connect with him during my visit. I'll be writing to you from there and I'll give you a bit of what I see.

Things are slowly returning to normal around here, coming down from the excitement of the exhibit opening. Lisa went into her studio this evening. More beautiful creations are sure to emerge.

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

Peace,
Danny
