Service

Hi,

Well, that thing about the rain being gone; not true.  We had rain overnight and again this evening.  Oh well, everything is green and beautiful.

The ‘Easy Monday’ song appeared on a 'record album’ that went ‘round and round’.  One might say it was a revolver.  “Everybody seems to think I’m lazy.  I don’t mind, I think they’re crazy.  Running everywhere at such a speed, till they find there’s no need (There’s no need).  Please don’t spoil my day, I’m miles away, and after all, __ __ __.”  Hint:  I think I’ve said quite enough.

It was the kind of morning when the sky has clouds, but the sun is dominant.  The kinds of morning that says ‘Get the van washed, you’ll feel better.’  We hung out at Work@Home while the van got it’s bath and had a good visit with Katai, the owner.  Just before we left I noticed a man on a motorbike going by with an interesting load.  I ran down the street and caught this photo while he was stopped.  You can draw your own conclusions.

One of the great things about the Healthy Market is the honesty of the vendors.  Today we asked the husband at the fruit stand if the pineapple was sweet.  His reply was, ’Not sweet’.  He knows we prefer sweet versions of the fruit and sometimes he will tell us before we ask.

When Natcha arrived for work this morning she had three large plastic bags with her.  She was starting the moving process.  Friday is the day she and Gong will move into the apartment.  There is a sense of excitement and anticipation.  Today we got a new door lock and got the stove for the Thai kitchen connected.  One comforting thought is that she won’t have to travel through the rain to come to work.

After our successful shopping trip to Big C on Sunday night, we’ve been rethinking the evening shopping idea.  Tonight we returned to Big C and found the store much more ‘user friendly’.  Before we entered the main store Blue and I went to the DTAC shop to handle some phone business.  Lisa went to the TrueTV shop and in both cases, there was no waiting.  During the day, these shops are always crowded.  Inside Big C it was a breeze to shop without being in congested aisles or long check-out lines.  Everything was going fine until we got to the door to leave.  Remember that carwash we got this morning?  Well, it was soaking wet and the sky was letting go of lots of water.  The umbrellas were in the van so we had to make a mad dash.  At least we have a clean, wet van (555).

As we move into planting season for some crops, we see familiar movement as we drive around the outskirts of town.  The field next to us got plowed today and others have begun planting.  It’s nice to see the field getting plowed because it means it hasn’t been sold.  We can expect another crop of corn, though we will never actually taste it.  It usually doesn’t get picked until the stalks are dry.  They use it for feeding livestock and it’s like absentee farming.  Plant it, spray it, harvest it.  Hmm.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

                Peace,
                          Danny
