Noble

Hi,

Hot is still the order of the day.  Water is the next big topic of discussion.  For us it's been avoiding thrown water, and slipping into pool water.  Yea, the season has begun.

The 'Easy Monday' song was "The Girl from Ipanema" by Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto.  Here's a 'Zany Day' tune, I think some of you may remember:  "Well, they'll stone ya when you're trying to be so good.  They'll stone ya just a-like they said they would.  They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to go home.  Then they'll stone ya when you're there, all alone.  But I would not feel so all alone, __ __ __ __."  Clue: The key word to this song is in every verse.  That's all you get today.

The streets of Chiang Rai were strangely empty this morning.  Traffic was very light on our trip to Makro.  Driving into town was also very easy.  I guess everyone was doing 'at home' Songkran things this morning, and getting ready for the afternoon and evening.  Many people go to their temple in the morning, so that may have been the reason for the ghost town look.

Natcha returned to work today, and brought her boyfriend with her.  He hung out in the apartment while she worked.  He seems like a nice young man.  His name is Gong and I'm sure we'll get to know him as time goes on.  It was nice to have some help in the house again.  When we asked them if they were going to play Songkran, they both let us know that they didn't like the water play.

We have been hoping the pool would be at a swimmable state during this hot weather, especially since the air is good.  After running the filter in long segments, and doing some sweeping, the water presented an inviting picture today.  This afternoon we went in and it was wonderful.  It was a bit 'cool' on entry, but after a little movement it felt great.

Blue and I went down to the river this afternoon and took photos of the giant village/party across from the boathouse.  Today's photo will give you an idea of the throng of people enjoying the riverside.  This is just one portion of the throng.  More photos later.

Tomorrow we go to immigration for our 90 day check-in.  It has become a simple procedure these days; just a matter of showing them our passports.

It's time for Wacky Wednesday.

                 Peace,
                           Danny
