Resist

Hi,

I really do know the days of the week. Today is Wednesday and yesterday was Tuesday, not Monday. And you thought you were confused. (Ha)

The Easy song was "The Way You Do The Things You Do" by The Temptations. Now it's time to tax your brain:
"Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waiting for the train and I's feelin' nearly as faded as my jeans..." Clue: Big hit by a gravely-voiced singer who gave away too many pieces of her heart. Song is a road trip.

Today was a light day in terms of running around. There was, of course, my morning visit to CAT to badger them about their internet service. It turns out that my visit was a good thing because they didn't know that their system speed had dropped. Khun Nucha looked up at me with great concern after running a test on his laptop. I managed to leave feeling like I'd accomplished something. (Ha)

We found a minor problem in one of Lisa's framed pieces and took it back to Khun Noy and they're going to fix it. It's the last of the framing issues. Now all we have to do is locate some bubble wrap for transporting the works to the gallery. There will be about 21 pieces that we'll load on the truck so we definitely need to pad them.

This evening we went into town to mail an invitation to some friends who live north of us. For the second time in a week the clerk has been a little confused about us sending mail to someone so close. I guess it's not done that often.

From the Top's mail desk we strolled south to the 7-11 on the main drag to pay our water bill. Along the way we noticed all the tourists out on the street. It struck me that Swenson's Ice Cream always has a young woman standing out in front with a menu, calling out to the foot traffic. In the evening, like tonight, most of that traffic does not speak Thai, and yet they smile and call out in Thai. Hmm.

When we finally arrived at 7-11 there was something wrong with the computer and after everyone in the store tried to enter our bill, they told us they couldn't do it. They really tried, but it was hopeless. It was quite a scene behind the counter. Four clerks trying to get the thing to work. Each took a turn, with the manager taking two or three tries. In the end, everyone smiled and we understood that some things are not in our control.

Are you ready for Wacky Wednesday?

Peace,
Danny
