Boomerangs

Hi,

We had a busy Monday here in The Rai. There was an unscheduled visit, a trip to the vet, a package retrieval, and a three-store 'browsing' excursion. The adventures continue.

I got a little mail on the 'Easy Monday' song. All is not lost though. You still might get it if you sing along.
"Well, you could have been anything that you wanted to and I can tell __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __." Hint: This Motown group scored a ton of hits and no, it's not 'My Girl'.

This morning the doorbell rang and Boot immediately asked, "Who come?" We did not know. The gate opened and as soon as I saw the orange truck I knew it was someone from the internet company. I'd been there again this morning complaining about our connection speed not being correct. Two guys came in and Boot knew one of them from her days selling sea food in the market. They changed the modem, got a faster speed and acted as if everything was settled. Not. It's a hair better but still not what was guaranteed. Ugh.

Daku has developed what looks like a rash and we thought we should have Dr. Arnon check him out. As soon as we got there we put him on the scales. He turned six months on the 24th and now weighs 51 pounds. He has a small infection that should not be a problem but we have to take him back next week. His trip in the truck was a little uncomfortable for him since he's too big to sit on the back seat. He had to arrange himself on the floor.
The question is, do we get a bigger truck? (Ha)

We went downtown to the package pick-up shop to get the proof sheet on the catalog for the art show. It was a little store front that was filled with all sizes of packages that had been shipped by bus. It cost $1.42 to send our piece on the bus. Something to remember. The printing looked incredible and we're very happy with the result. Considering that our friend Blue did the layout in America after receiving emails of all the parts and then had to send it back to Thailand via email to the printer it's amazing.

This afternoon we went on a search for a toaster oven. We found several things that were called that, but they didn't quite have the configuration we were looking for and were not like what we have in America. Three stops and we came up empty but there are more places to check out. Grilled chicken sounds like a nice change. Yum.

With all the little trips outside the compound it struck me again today that our house is a bit of a curiosity to the many passers by. Every time I open the gate and wait for the traffic to clear I notice people slowing down to get a peak inside. I'd probably do the same if I passed the Big Brown House every day. It's interesting how easily we take some things for granted.

It's time for Happy Tuesday. It's also time for an evening swim, if the water is warm enough.

Peace,
Danny
