Hi,
It was a busy day here in Chiang Rai. There was a list of things to do and people to see, and it all got done. We also had time for a relaxing swim. Ahhh.
I guess starting the week with an easy one is good for all of us. I think I'll call them 'Easy Mondays'. I get mail.
"I read the news today, oh, boy, about a lucky man who made the grade..." Hint: A lot can happen in a day. It's from one of this groups biggest LPs.
This morning we had an appointment at the salon that Boot introduced us to yesterday. It was the most efficient experience we've had yet. I've had a shampoo here before, complete with scalp massage but today's was something special. There was this gentle thumb thing that massaged my temples, went around my ears and ended with a neck massage. We were there for three hours and left looking and feeling great.
As we left the salon we got a call from Gahn. We were going to try and meet her at her house an 1pm. It turned out she was at our house. That saved us some driving and made things a little smoother for the rest of the day. She had some alterations she was returning. Everything fit right and she was given more. Then it was time for a late lunch.
A little after lunch Tye and her husband Pong arrived. We wanted to get a few pointers about Chiang Mai. They helped us locate the print shop, an art supply house and the dance supply store on our map. We got insight on how the city is laid out and the direction of some key streets. Not that I plan to drive all over town, but it's good to know.
Not long after Tye and Pong left we had another visitor. Kek, our landscape guy, came over so we could discuss some additional plants and trees that we want to add to the scenery. We walked the yard and, with Boot's help, explained what we wanted and where. We're gradually getting a concept of how we want things to be. We started with his plan and now we're making it ours. Very gratifying.
By the time we finished with Kek it was really time to hit the pool. Walking the yard and standing in the sun made the heat of the day very apparent. I forgot to mention that yesterday Lisa started swimming again. It's a lot more fun with two in the pool than doing solitary laps. We swam, discussed the yard from the pool level perspective and then sat in the sun. The perfect ending for a busy day.
Tomorrow morning we head for Chiang Mai. I may have to leave my laptop overnight for a drive replacement so if you don't get your message by 8am West Coast Time (US) go to the 'blogspot' link below. I will be able to post it from Lisa's computer but my email groups will be in the shop. (Ha)
Have a Happy Tuesday.
Peace,
Danny
