Kindness

Hi,

Today was bright and sunny here in Chiang Rai. A road trip was planned, bugs did battle and I got a swim just before the storm. All that and more coming up.

I'm so glad that you remembered "Good Vibrations" by The Beach Boys. I love the production on that one. Now:
"I’ve ordered some rain for tomorrow. The sky will be sunny, but wet. And out of nowhere, you’re suddenly there, and I’ll say, “Pardon me, __ __ __” Clue: This song asks a question. It's by a song stylist who recently left the physical life. He will be missed by many. Try not to Google. If you do, say so. OK?

We have been wanting to go down to Chiang Mai before we leave for America. We settled on the 17th so we could visit our friends Alan and Ten, meet with the printer of the show catalog and pick up a few things. Normally we ride down on the VIP bus. I have not wanted to drive down because I don't know the city and it's a big one compared to Chiang Rai. Lisa got out a map and realized that it wasn't too hard to get to our hotel from the highway. Once there we could use local transportation to get around. So, we're taking the little car on it's first road trip. There are many pluses to this. We can leave when we want, stop when we want, and come home with as much as we want. There's also the fact that I always imagined trying to do the trip in the pick-up. The car is a totally different machine. This will be enjoyable.

This morning Johan and Noy came over to leave some salt and check on the pool. They noticed a battle going on between a wasp and a group of bees. Apparently some turf was infringed upon and it got ugly. The wasp lost. It was too close to a bee hive that we didn't realize was there. We called the bug guy but he doesn't do wasps, bees or whatever. Boot doesn't want to do anything because they don't bother her but there are nests over the pool deck area. Hmm.

I almost forgot. Last night Boot went to a wedding and called to say that because of the distance, she'd be staying overnight. That meant that both dogs stayed with us. This was a first. They played, had to be put on 'time outs', chewed things, played and finally crashed. I had to take them out, one at a time, and it was weird because the lawn was all soggy from the rain. What fun we had. (Ha) They started their sleeping in different parts of the room and when we woke up, they had moved to opposite sides. Of course they got up early so none of us got much sleep. This afternoon everybody took a nap.

Late afternoon today I managed to get in my third swim in the pool since they restarted the saline chlorinator. It's like night and day. No smell, and the consistency of the water feels soft and dense. About five minutes after I got out another brief storm hit. Didn't last long but it left a lot of water. Let's hear it for the rainy season.

It's time for a Wacky Wednesday.

Peace,
Danny
