Seek

Hi,

This turned out to be a very busy day. There was the road trip, and pool guys. There were monks to deliver, and once again murky waters from the mystery pool.

It was like pulling teeth but we all got on the same page with the song. "Monday, Monday" by The Mamas and Papas, and now you wish it wasn't in your head. Fear not. There's another song coming. (Ha) This one goes out to Kathie, who's going to the place this song was written for. "This is the moment I've waited for. I can hear my heart singing. Soon bells will be ringing..." Clues: The title is not in the song but the place is mentioned. Picture an island and you might be close.

We were awakened early this morning by BamBam's barking. Usually we get up before she does but things are a little different these days. Our house guests get up at 5:30 which meant Boot got up early, which meant Bambam was up early. It all worked out and we managed to go back to bed. Tomorrow it will be different. Boot will feed the dogs and hopefully we will wake up when it's time to wake up. (555)

We hit the road a little behind schedule, but it didn't matter. The car drove very smoothly on the highway. At one point we were cruising along at 110 and it felt like 60. Oh, that's kilometers per hour. (Ha) I did push it up to 125 just to see how stable it is and it passed the test. We handled our affairs at immigration without a hitch and headed back to Chiang Rai. On the way to Mae Sai we had noticed signs for coffee along the road. We made a stop on the way back to check the place out. It was a very small, cozy indoor/outdoor place by a stream right next to the road. The coffee was great and the vibe was relaxing. I took a few pictures that I'll have to post.

It turns out that Yongsakh (correct spelling) and his friend are just visiting Chiang Rai. Next year he will be moving here to study. So we have two monks staying with us for a few days. This afternoon we took them to
Wat Phra Singh where Yongsakh will be living next year.

The morning visit from the pool guys yielded what looked like an old fish pond. A call and a visit from Johan in the afternoon left us both scratching our heads. Tomorrow he'll bring a portable filter to clean up the water and then he and Khun Cheurn will try and figure out what's going on. Meanwhile, the mystery pool is living up to it's name. Hmm.

I think it must be Wacky Wednesday.

Peace,
Danny
