Hi,
Today (Thursday) was a beautiful day for running errands. We had a full morning and a lazy afternoon.
It looks like the 'Bad Ass Bass' tune has stumped you all. And to think, you've been listening to the subject of the song for weeks now, at least in the U.S. Here are my favorite lines from this tune: "I support the left, though I'm leanin', leanin' to the right. I support the left, though I'm leanin' to the right. But I'm just not there, when it's coming to a fight." Hint: One word title describing a person who holds political office, or runs for one. By what may have been the first 'Power Trio' in Rock & Roll.
It's always easier to see what needs to be done with a list. Many things have been migrating from day to day from one list to the next, which means the master list has gotten pretty long. Today we set out early to tackle some of the errands on that list. We began at Makro a little after 8am. What? Easy parking, short lines and everything we needed. One of the items we picked up was paper for the printer. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I'll let the package speak for itself:
Clean, Well Behaved, Faithful
Knowing the streets of Chiang Rai as I think I do, a course was plotted in my mind that would keep us from doing too much backtracking. We stopped at Work@Home for bread and a chance for Lisa to visit with Jonathan the dog. After picking up some printer ink we were right in front of the downtown market. We hadn't been there since our return so we went in for a look around. We ended up in an area of the market that we'd never seen before, and may never again. The place is like a maze. Over time, we may become familiar with it all, but it will be years.
There is a 'Fair Trade' store that sells handicrafts from the various Hill Tribes. The cool thing is that the people who do the needle work and sewing will get fair pay for their work. The store was relocated months ago and we'd never seen the new one. Today we visited and browsed what they had for sale. It's a great place for gift shopping and I know we'll be back.
Our last stop was the furniture store. It took a bit of winding through the streets in the market district. There are a series of one-way streets that make you feel like you're not making progress, but eventually the destination is attained. We were looking for a desk to put in the guest room where Tat is staying. He had been studying on the bed and the floor. We found a desk and chair and had them delivered. When he got home from school he was very happy.
All that traveling around was finished before 11am. There was a little more to the morning, then lunch and some down time. It's been a good day.
Have a Thrilling Thursday.
Peace,
Danny
PS You're not paying attention. I wished you a 'Thrilling Thursday' yesterday and you said nothing. (555)
