Risks

Hi,

We saw new things today, did some shopping, and tried to avoid the heat. Ballet classes began, and everyone is getting ready for the biggest holiday of the year.

Our 'Easy' song was "Handy Man" by Jimmy Jones. Lots of you knew the song but only a few knew the artist. My friend Stuart dropped the name of the first group Jones sang in, The Sparks of Rhythm. All that was in 1960. Jones' 'B' side was also a hit with "Good Timin'". Now you know. For those in need of success, here's one that should be on everyone's mental playlist: "You know that it would be untrue, you know that I would be a liar, if I was to say to you, girl we couldn't get much higher. Come on baby __ __ __....." Clue: Got a light?

In an effort to beat the heat, we ran our errands during the morning hours today. Not real early, but before the midday sun. We drove out to Ghan's house, west of town, to drop off some things for alteration, and to order a new waist bag. It's a nice ride that ends up in the country.

Back in the city, we stopped at Sinthanee to do some price checking on a small boom-box for the kitchen. Boot likes to play music while she works in the kitchen, and also leaves it on for the dogs. We got a price and moved down the highway to the TrueTV store. They are our service provider for all things television. It was time to see if they had any of their PVR's in stock. It's like TiVo, and it would be so nice, but we heard the familiar words 'My Mee' (no have).

Our main destination was, you guessed it, Big C. We found the perfect little device with a radio, and CD player. They also had a table Lisa has been looking for to use in her art studio. We made it home in time for lunch.

As we were heading out to Ghan's house, we noticed a bunch of men standing on a corner with big stiff brooms. The street was wet and we realized they were cleaning the street. This is something we'd never seen before. There are women who sweep and maintain the curbs and sidewalks, but this was street washing, by broom. Amazing Thailand.

This afternoon, Tye picked up Lisa for ballet class. The girls have had a break from their 'Lisa classes' since they were living in Chiang Mai preparing for the big show. Now it's back to the routine and it sounds like they were up to the task. It's a good thing the new studio has air/con. The old sports center would not have worked at all.

It feels like a Wacky Wednesday.

Peace,
Danny
