Friday Funnies

Hi,

This morning around 2:30 a.m. it started raining. Actually, it started storming and it went on for over an hour. "Thunder and lightning, very very frightening to me." Oops, bonus points if you know that song. Anyway, it dumped so we don't have to water the trees.

I guess the second day's hint woke up some dormant rock genes and I got lots of mail. It was "Start Me Up" by The Rolling Stones. They're still here. Our weekend song should be easy for some. It's an R&B classic from an R&B classic. The group was part of a big family of hit-makers. "I know you want to leave me, but I refuse to let you go..." No hints, no clues.

Most of the day was spent inside doing our respective arts. Lisa painted and I resurrected an old bossa nova I haven't played in years. It rained off and on all day. The sky cleared in mid afternoon and we went for a short swim.

Boot had her last night of her English class so after dinner we hung out with BamBam in the guest room. She had us cracking up with her play this evening. She'd take her cloth chew toy and toss it in the air and then dive on it. Sometimes she'd catch it but most of the time it was about toss and attack. Our little bundle of energy is still under mild confinement and she's dying to run around the yard and sniff and bite everything. Soon she will be released. She won't be the only one who will be happy with that arrangement.

I'm going to leave you now, with a lesson in economics sent to me by Cousin Trudye. Have a Cool WeekEnd.

Peace

Danny

Once upon a time in a place overrun with monkeys, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each. The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest, and started catching them.

The man bought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish, they became harder to catch, so the villagers stopped their effort.
The man then announced that he would now pay $20 for each one.
This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. But soon the supply diminished even further and they were ever harder to catch, so people started going back to their farms and forgot about monkey catching.
The man increased his price to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so sparse that it was an effort to even see a monkey, much less catch one.
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys for $50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on his behalf.
While the man was away the assistant told the villagers, “Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has bought. I will sell them to you at $35 each and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each.”
The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys. They never saw the man nor his assistant again and once again there were monkeys everywhere.
Now you have a better understanding of how the stock market works.
