Imagination

Hi,

We woke up again today to the sound of light rain.  It was an off and on day for the water from the sky.  The forecast was rain with a high of 79 degrees, but right now it’s night time and it’s 80.  They don’t know because they’re not here.  Anyway, it will continue to rain, with occasion thunder showers.

The ‘Easy Monday’ song was “Fixing A Hole” by The Beatles.  Congrats to everybody that wrote in with the answer.  And now, the ‘Zany Day’ song:  “Here in my __ I feel safest of all, I can lock all my doors, it’s the only way to live in __.  Here in my __ I can only receive, I can listen to you, it keeps me stable for days in __.”  Hint:  A 1980 hit based around life in a mobile device.

One nice thing about all the rain is the green landscape that surrounds us.  Not far from us there is some ‘unattended’ land that now looks like a mini-jungle.  I always hope that they don’t cut it down.  Usually, they don’t and it just fades in the hot season.  Right now things are growing fast from so much rain.  In honor of all the greening, today’s photo is part of our front yard.

This morning we finally got our TV working again.  Actually,it was the dish that needed repair.  It’s been down for at least a month and it was time.  Now we can keep up with tennis (Wimbledon is coming) and Formula One, we need to stay in touch.  Sometimes we look at news, but try to avoid it on TV except in major events.

We went to Work@Home for coffee and had a brief, parking lot chat with Katai.  It’s interesting to see the patterns in people's lives.  We have an irregular coffee circuit that we like to travel.  There are two expats who go to Work@Home every morning and have their lattes and conversation.  Some might say that these patterns are just routines and indicate a boring lifestyle.  I have found that it’s nice to go somewhere and experience warmth and familiarity, so there!

I guess we’re feeling a bit better because we ventured off to Home Pro and picked up light bulbs and other needed stuff.  By the main door there was a young woman who said she was from Bangkok.  She had a table full of gifts one could get, depending on the size of a donation.  The organization is collecting money to feed elephants and protect natural habitats.  We supported them on our way out.  Now that more is known about the plight of the elephants, more organizations and sanctuaries are being established.  Cool.

Cat came by this evening and we got to see some of the photos she has taken for her photography class.  The class is four days this week, all day and they are using their phones.  Based on the pics we saw and her explanation, she’s learning a lot.  It’s a great experience.  After she left, the nightly storm arrived.  We hope she doesn’t get too wet on her way home.

It feels like a Wacky Wednesday.

                       Peace,
                                 Danny
