Colors

Hi,

Chiang Rai had another wonderful day.  We’re in countdown mode for a storm that’s expected around 4am.  Not holding my breath, but wishing anyway.

“Who’s always writing on the wall?  Who’s always goofin’ in the hall?  Who’s aways throwin’ spit balls?  Guess who?  ‘Who me?’  Yeah, you!  Who walks in the classroom cool and slow?  Who calls the English teacher Daddy-O?  __ __, __ __, he’s a clown, that __ __….”  Clue:  It’s by a group I use a lot on ‘Zany Day’.  Lots of comical, novelty tunes.  Oh, what last name might rhyme with clown?

This morning we got busy.  Lisa had a new painting for a coming Art Bridge exhibition that needed to be delivered. We got there when the doors opened and took care of that.  Then we went up the highway to Dr. View for some doggie stuff.  She asked about BamBam (‘How’s the little one?) and Lisa explained that she’s doesn’t live with us anymore.  At Makro things went pretty smoothly.  It was my first visit inside the store in quite some time.

During lunch Blue told us about a major conference on the condition of the planet.  The air in Beijing was shown and it got us to discussing the air in Thailand.  Other than the March Madness when the crop trash is burned, our air in Chiang Rai is beautiful.  We get many tourists from China these days and it just might set off a migration in search of cleaner air.  Hmm, maybe all those empty condos will be occupied after all.

After lunch, and a nap, we went to the Department of Land Vehicles to renew the registration on the van.  There was no waiting and it took less than 5 minutes to complete our business.  Not only was it brief, it cost the same thing as last year, which was not a lot.

The government building near our house will be the site of ceremonies in honor of The King on Saturday.  Cat told us that her teachers will be attending and the traffic will probably be heavy.  Fortunately, we have an alternate route to town if we need to go out.

Saturday is also the day Cat will leave for Chiang Mai with a bus full of high school seniors.  They will attend a 5 day ‘camp’, as she put it.  I think it will be similar to her Hua Hin experience, where they get an overview of life on the campus.  She will be staying with three of her close classmates.

Major fireworks are being set off as I type.  Not sure if there’s a reason, or maybe a practice for Saturday, but it's big and loud.

Today’s photo was taken while standing on the bridge of our friend Gary’s Koi pond.  They were expecting treats.

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

                 Peace,
                           Danny
