Love

Hi,

Today was a mix of sunshine, thunder, street scenes and internet drama.  Another wonderful day in Chiang Rai.

Well, it seems that only a few of you knew the 'Easy Monday' song.  This song revolves (a clue) around having someone or something in the singer's life.  "What can I do, what can I be?  When I'm with you I want to stay there.  If I am true I'll never leave and if I do I know the way there.  Ooh, then I suddenly see you.  Ooh, did I tell you I need you?  Every single day of my life.  __ __ __ __ __ __ __, (repeat)."  Hint:  There were horns.  (Ha)

This morning we had a few errands to run, so after Lisa's massage we went into the center of town.  There are always sights to see so we stay ready to embrace the adventure.  While sitting at a red light I heard the sound of a small child fussing.  There, in the next lane, was a man with two tiny kids on a motorbike.  He handed the fussy kid to a woman on a bike next to him and the kid calmed down.  Hmm, the whole thing was a bit strange but I guess they knew each other and she was helping him out.  Small children on motorbikes are a way of life here, and just another reminder that I'm not from around here.

In the middle of the business district I finally got a picture I've been trying to get.  It's pretty self-evident and is a testament to the power of 'The Kitty' with no mouth.

                                    Hello

Our bank always has their air/con set to a very low temperature and the contrast is sometimes hard to take.  Today we were distracted from the chilly air by a looping advertisement for life insurance being played through large speakers.  This was all in Thai so it was just a barrage of sound.  The light moment at the bank is when the automated voice calls the next customer in line and it sounds like she's saying 'candy counter'.  Sounds good to me.

This afternoon we finally got someone to come out to the house from the internet company.  We thought our new router had solved the problem but it came back last week.  Two techs came and fooled with things, left to check lines and returned.  They connected their router and got the speed we pay for and told us our Belkin was no good.  What?  Now we're back on our original 'network' using Airport Extreme (which another tech said wouldn't work) and getting proper speed and stability.  Hey, the kids gotta have their internet, however it comes.

We were all set to go swimming until Lisa stepped into the water.  We should have checked the thermometer first.  If we had, we would have seen the 79 degree temp and just stayed in our clothes.  We've had some very cool nights with rain and that always cools the pool.  The dogs got to play a bunch and then the light rain began.  The forecasts call for rain this week.   Some parts of Thailand are going to have heavy thunderstorms but not where we live.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

                     Peace,
                                Danny

"You can't grasp it, but you can't lose it.
It winds its own way.
When you are silent, it speaks.
When you speak, it is dumb.
There are no obstacles.
The great gate of love is wide open."
