Thorns

Hi,

Today is The Queen's birthday. It's known as Mother or Mother's Day, depending on who's saying it. It changed a few of our plans for the day since it's a holiday. Right now we can hear fireworks in the distance.

'Easy Monday' wasn't so easy was it? The song was "Sunny" by Bobby Hebb. A wonderful one hit wonder. Now it's time for a real challenge. It's a song you know but I'm starting from the second half of the first verse.
"I'll be with you darling soon, I'll be with you when the stars start falling..." Clue: By a trio from across the pond, this song is not just about stars. It was the groups biggest selling single.

The first time we came to Thailand was in 2001. I remember the cab ride into Bangkok and noticing huge banners and posters with pictures of the Queen, wishing her a happy day. Some celebrations go on for a week. During our stay in Bangkok we learned of the things she has done to help provide health care and education for many people in The Kingdom.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we took Daku to the vet's this morning but Dr. Arnon had taken the day off. Even though there was a doctor on duty, the staff acted like we only wanted to see Arnon and sort of ignored us. We left and will take him back tomorrow. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches.

We had planned to purchase the long sought after toaster oven today but our store was closed. We pressed on since I just knew that Big C would be open. I was right and so were many other shoppers. We got what we needed plus a few other things and managed to get home by lunch time.

The rain started on our way home from Big C. Light at first and then turned into a steady, moderate dump. The day was very hot and it didn't help that it was raining. We took a nap and woke up to bluish sky. What else to do but take a swim to cool off. We had a short swim and then got ready for the ballet lesson.

We eat more fruit here then we did when we live in America. In fact, we have fruit with lunch and dinner. It's something Boot started doing when she first started working for us. It's like our dessert. In the mornings I like orange juice and Lisa likes an orange. Today we stopped at our local fruit stand to pick up some oranges. I bought 6 of them and it came to 30 baht. That's 87 cents. It's a nice place to like fruit.

It's time for Wacky Wednesday.

Peace,
Danny
